I have encountered this problem in previous games of Madeira, and for a complex game like this, an undo button is required to avoid accidents like this.

I have literally not played a game of Madeira in the past year where one player hasn't misclicked and had their game wrecked, and then we just play it out anyway with one player permanently out of contention.

I just messed up my game by actually hitting "Character Action" rather than "Harvest". It wouldn't let me undo, so that means I've lost the game because I have no way of collecting resources in this round.

This is a punishingly difficult game, and it's very frustrating to have the interface add greatly to the difficulty.

That was the first game I did on BGA an it was not designed with undo in mind, so it will be very unlikely it will be fixed. All the other games I did was done with client side undo (cancel), but this game would have be pretty much rewritten to add something like that :(

I don't think i will play another game of madeira again because of this issue...it is very frustrating because a mistake in 1 round costs you the game...delays in connection to the server cause the same problem as multiclicking makes you lose moves
Example...second ship is lost, workers did not go to city etc...

As a professional software developer, so I understand why fixing this may require significant rewrite. As a player on BGA, I find this issue extremely frustrating -- I have friends who love Madeira but do not wish to play it on BGA specifically because of this issue.

I understand that coding on BGA is largely a volunteer effort. Would it be possible for me to volunteer to try and reimplement Madeira in order to address this issue? It would be my first time working on this type of project, but I've been a software developer for 25 years and Madeira is one of my all-time favorite games.

I'm in the same situation as Victoria_la.
I have programmed my first game, Cacao, and it is in alpha.
But players ask me to implement undo (boardgamearena.com/bug?id=22152) : maybe that in Cacao, undo is less critical than in this game.
But for a junior programmer in BGA (I program since 30 years, but this experience does not help in BGA workbench), the undo is a hard job.
In my case, this implies changements in states, and probably a game experience less fluid.

This game is great, it is very well implemented but it is a pity that doesn't have the undo option. More than once I chose an option and after that I saw that I couldn't do it (or it wasn't a good option) because os something (lack of wood, lack of resources, ...). Unfortunately I read that the developer said that adding the undo option would require a lot of (re)work. Anyway, thank youy for allowing us to play this game as it is here in BGA but... having the undo option it would be great! :-)

Is it possible to save the game state at the start of a player's turn, and fully reset to it if the player messes something up?

PLEASE make an undo button. I keep forgetting that I don't have enough resources or money or something, so I want to undo, but I can. It would help SO much if you would add an undo option. Thank you.

Here's another vote. I just utterly f***ed a game due to a misclick and the lack of undo.

Undo buttons should be considered in every BGA game! It's so frustrating when doing an action that normally in real games you can decide to reconsider.
If you don't draw new cards or reveil hidden objects, undo should be available each time.

Victoria, you mentioned intending to fix, although it would be considerable work. Is this still something you’re planning? It is unfortunate that this is one of the best games on BGA, but the inability to undo makes this one of the worst implementations (nearly unplayable - a single misclick can cost someone the game in a way that would never happen in real life, and is not intended by the game design).

I played this game now the first time and it is very cool. But i agree that i wont play it anymore here since there is no undo button. It's way to easy in this game to make misklick and the impact of such a missklick is way to high... Maybe another programmer then Victoria is motivated to fix this issue and is willing to rewrite it. Beside of the little undo thing super great work Victoria!!

Prosím sem pridaj čokoľvek, čo sa zdá byť podstatné za účelom zreprodukovania tejto závady alebo pochopenia Tvojho podnetu:

Iné ID stola / ID ťahu
Vyriešil sa problém pomocou F5?
Objavil sa problém viackrát? Zakaždým? Náhodne?
Ak máš snímku obrazovky s touto chybou (dobrý zvyk), môžeš použiť ľubovoľnú službu na zdieľanie obrázkov (napríklad snipboard.io), nahrať ho tam a odkaz sem skopírovať/vložiť.
