A spectacular duel unfolds deep beneath the earth. You take turns sending out mighty dragons to conquer territories. But place them wisely! If your beasts grow too powerful, they'll turn on each other, and you could lose everything.
Dragon Overload is a card game for two, part of our 2026 Summer of Games.
You compete to send your dragons into five landscapes and gain majority there. Each zone is associated with a specific family of dragons and can hold only a limited number of cards.
How does it work? On your turn, you select one of your cards and place it in one of the available slot on your side of the board. Your opponent gets the card from the pile of the chosen area, and he then plays one of his cards. And so on…
The game is based on a territory-control mechanism, but accumulating power isn't necessarily the best strategy. If the strength of your dragons reaches at least twice that of your opponent’s in a zone, your creatures become uncontrollable and you automatically lose that territory. This rule turns your duels into an exercise in balance and anticipation.
Dragon Overload incorporates an element of bluffing thanks to the possibility to play up to three cards face down. Incomplete information forces your opponent to interpret your intentions while protecting their own plans.
The game ends when one player controls all five territories, when an opponent can no longer perform a valid action, or when all zones are filled. The player with the most territory at that point wins.

Hlboko pod zemou sa odohráva veľkolepý súboj. Striedate sa vo vysielaní mocných drakov, aby dobyli územia. Ale umiestňujte ich múdro! Ak vaše beštie príliš zosilnejú, obrátia sa proti sebe a vy by ste mohli prísť o všetko.
Dragon Overload je kartová hra pre dvoch, ktorá je súčasťou nášho Letných hier 2026.
Súťažíte o to, kto pošle svojich drakov do piatich krajín a získa tam väčšinu. Každá zóna je spojená s konkrétnou rodinou drakov a môže obsahovať iba obmedzený počet kariet.
Ako to funguje? Keď idete na ťah, vyberiete si jednu zo svojich kariet a umiestnite ju do jedného z dostupných slotov na vašej strane hracej plochy. Váš súper si vezme kartu z kôpky vo vybranej oblasti a potom zahrá jednu zo svojich kariet. A tak ďalej…
Hra je založená na mechanizme kontroly územia, ale akumulácia sily nie je nevyhnutne najlepšou stratégiou. Ak sila vašich drakov dosiahne v zóne aspoň dvojnásobok sily súpera, vaše stvorenia sa stanú neovládateľnými a vy automaticky stratíte dané územie. Toto pravidlo premení vaše súboje na cvičenie v rovnováhe a očakávaní.
Dragon Overload obsahuje prvok blafovania vďaka možnosti hrať až tri karty lícom dole. Neúplné informácie nútia súpera interpretovať vaše zámery a zároveň chrániť svoje vlastné plány.
Hra končí, keď jeden hráč ovládne všetkých päť území, keď súper už nemôže vykonať platnú akciu alebo keď sú všetky zóny zaplnené. Hráč s najväčším územím v danom bode vyhráva.
